Truth For Youth

Oh! What a privilege we have to preach and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 1:18 “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness, but unto us which are saved, it is the power of God.” I don’t know about you, but I need the power of God in my life. That being said, how much more do I need, as well as others, the preaching of the cross to come from my Pastor? I’d like to challenge you to pray earnestly for our Pastor every day. Pray that the power of God would be in his life and that the Holy Spirit would use the message of the cross to speak to each and every one of us.
The preaching of the cross does not stop with Jesus dying on the cross. It deals with His death, burial and resurrection. In applying that to our lives every aspect of the Christian life is correlated to what Jesus Christ did for us on Calvary. Oh, how much we need to hear the gospel. I can’t imagine the importance put on our pastor’s life to preach the Word of God. Not only to preach his version but the Word the way God wrote it. In realizing this we must pray for our Pastor. You can never pray too much.
Please continue to pray for the nursing home ministry, we are seeing some new people attend and thank the Lord for that. Also Miss Ann is with us now in the nursing home, please pray for her as well.
We have quite a bit going on this summer and I’m looking forward to see what God is going to do with our Church this year. Start praying now as ask God where He needs you in the activities this year. We have Vacation Bible School and lots of others activities that need your help. Ask God for guidance and then volunteer yourself to get involved. If you have any jobs done around the house let me know. Some of the teens may need some cash for an activity and they’d love to help. Pray for our teens we’re going to try some new stuff this year and I’m a little anxious to see what God will do with our willingness to serve. Pray for me as I’ll pray for you.
In Christ’s love,
Bro. Tom Goodman
